Rep. Luis Moscoso

February 16, 2012 – Legislative Update

Rep. Luis MoscosoThank you for visiting my webpage!

I am honored to represent the 1st Legislative District, which covers areas of south Snohomish County and northeast King County; and includes Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Bothell, Maltby and parts of Lynnwood and Edmonds.

As I enter the Washington State Legislature as a freshman representative, I see this critical year as an opportunity to reform government – We need to have the conversation to decide what we want government to look like moving forward.  What do we want state government to do?

I have been assigned to serve in four committees, Environment, General Government Appropriations & Oversight, Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness, and Transportation.  As you can imagine, this means I am in a lot of hearings on very different issues every day, which is enabling me to get a broader understanding of pressing needs in our state.

My main job in Olympia is to represent the people in my district and work on finding solutions to the many problems we are facing. To that end I will:

  • work to make sure that legislation protects our person, our property and our human and civil rights;
  • work to build out the transportation infrastructure that is so vital for our economic development.; and
  • work to encourage economic development in a responsible way that protects our quality of life.

As your representative, in order to make the best decisions on your behalf I need to hear from you!  Please do not hesitate to write or call whenever you have comments or question.  I look forward to building a more informed 1st Legislative District Community.
Best Regards,

Rep. Luis Moscoso
