This session, I'm focusing on crafting a balanced, sustainable state budget. The deficit will require significant reductions in funding, as well as some increases in revenues. Washington state faces a tough challenge, given the poor economy, but I believe we can come to solutions if we can find the courage to cooperate and compromise.
