2008 Committees
Agriculture and Natural Resources
The House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee considers issues relating to agricultural production, marketing, and sales, water, fisheries and wildlife, forest practices and forest fire protection, mining, parks and recreation, and various environmental laws not under the purview of another committee. The committee also considers the management of certain state-owned lands, including state forest lands, aquatic lands, and preserves and conservation areas.
Appropriations Subcommittee On General Government and Audit Review
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Audit Review considers issues relating to funding of general government programs and agencies and makes funding recommendations to the Appropriations Committee. The subcommittee also reviews fiscal and performance audits of state programs and agencies and makes recommendations to the Appropriations Committee for actions related to audit findings.
Local Government
The House Local Government Committee considers issues relating to the operations and financing of counties, cities, and special districts (other than school districts). The committee also considers issues relating to the Growth Management Act and related land use issues, such as local permitting, the subdivision of property, and property rights.
