Public hearing on hydraulic project approval process effectiveness

January 16, 2008

The House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee will hold a public hearing on House Bill 2530, which:

  • Requires the Department of Fish and Wildlife to conduct a study regarding the effectiveness of the existing hydraulics project approval permitting system; and

 

  • Prohibits the Department of Fish and Wildlife from approving or renewing any hydraulics project approvals within the Maury Island Aquatic Reserve for any commercial, industrial, or barge-loading facilities.

Dave Mann, counsel for Preserve Our Islands and Naki Stevens with People for Puget Sound will be testifying.
