Cell phone records, state fuel supply to be discussed during committee work session November 19, 2007 MEDIA ADVISORY SEATTLE – Questions about rising fuel prices as well as who has access to cell phone records in missing persons cases will be addressed next week during the House Technology, Energy and Communications (TEC) Committee work session. First on the Agenda will be a discussion with law enforcement and cell phone providers about cell phone records. “As cell phone technology advances, new questions about privacy arise,” said TEC committee Chair state Rep. Jeff Morris (D-Mount Vernon). “I am holding this work session to open dialogue between law enforcement and cell phone providers with the goal of protecting personal privacy and safety.” A conversation about the state’s fuel supply appears second on the agenda. “There are a lot of questions out there about why gas cost more in one part of the state as opposed to others,” Morris said. “This part of the work session will be devoted to understanding where our fuel comes from and what drives the price.” New and emerging sources of transportation fuel will also be discussed during the work session.
