Ferndale Boys and Girls Club receives boost from state Capital Budget funds valuable projects throughout Whatcom County April 22, 2007 OLYMPIA—The Ferndale Boys & Girls Club received over $1 million worth of good news in the state’s 2007-09 capital budget today. Rep. Kelli Linville (D-Bellingham) applauded the Legislature for funding the reconstruction of the Ferndale club, along with other Whatcom County projects. “After the tragic fire, one of my top priorities was getting state support in rebuilding the Ferndale Boys and Girls Club,” said Linville. “It’s so important to the community and the kids to have that facility. I also want to thank Senator Brandland for his leadership and efforts on the Senate Capital Budget Committee.” The capital budget was the final bill passed on the last day of the 2007 Legislative session. Linville pointed to the investments in community facilities, colleges and farmland preservation as crucial for the region. Another project of personal significance to Linville was funding for a new Bellingham Food Bank, to be rebuilt on the site of her great-grandfather’s foundry. 2007-09 Capital Budget Projects in the 42nd District:
