Welcome to my Web page – and welcome also to the 22nd Legislative District and the Washington state capital!

I’ve spent a big part of my life in public service, including teaching in public schools, being elected to a local school board, serving as a staff member for the U.S. Senate and Washington State Senate, and working at a state agency. It’s truly an honor to represent the families of the 22nd District! I’m also very proud to represent thousands of state employees who work hard every day keeping Washington a great place in which to make a home and career.

The budget invariably captures the lion’s share of media attention, but the Legislature also confronts a good many other challenges. My own legislative priorities include:
