Biography

Laura is a fifth-grade elementary teacher in Walla Walla. She was appointed to the Legislature in 2009 to fill the vacancy left by her late father, State Rep. Bill Grant.

She is a product of eastern Washington schools, graduating from Walla Walla High School and earning her teaching degree from Eastern Washington University. Laura previously served on the Prescott School Board, has been teaching for 20 years, and is actively involved with her family’s wheat farm.

Laura’s priorities in Olympia are supporting agricultural issues, continued support for our schools, and a budget that is both balanced and responsible. She lives in Walla Walla with her three children.
