Serving Mason and portions of Grays Harbor, Kitsap, and Thurston Counties.

Hello and welcome. This website is designed to help the people of the 35th legislative district learn more about your elected officials, your Legislature as a whole, and your state government in general. I hope you find it useful.

Our district isn't the largest in the state, but it's definitely one of the most varied. We come from four different counties, from cities like Tumwater and Bremerton and Shelton, from smaller communities like Belfair (my home) and Matlock, and from homesteads so private and remote they've never been named.

Varied as we are, I'm convinced most of us share the same basic goals and priorities:

• Economic opportunity and prosperity for all
• Good, safe schools
• Accessible, affordable health care
• Clean air and water
• Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

We're dealing with all of these on a daily basis here in Olympia, which is one reason I'm glad to have this new Internet site. It provides an additional way for me to stay in touch with you, and vice versa. Representative democracy needs that two-way communication to survive, and I'm committed to seeing our form of government not only survive, but thrive.
